Cunningham guides Monks to victory over Belfast

Merry Monk Ballina claimed an exhilarating victory over Belfast Star, securing a 75-70 win at the Ballina Community Sports Center. The game was a rollercoaster, with six lead changes and five ties. 

The first quarter ended in a 17-17 deadlock, with Mark Cunningham scoring 10 points for Merry Monk Ballina and Mark Burns contributing six for Belfast Star. By halftime, Merry Monk Ballina had edged ahead 40-37, thanks to Cunningham's consistent scoring.

The third quarter saw Merry Monk Ballina go on a 10-2 run, taking a 58-53 lead, with Theo Daly adding six crucial points. The final period was equally intense, culminating in a 75-70 victory for Merry Monk Ballina. Despite Mark Burns' impressive 29-point performance for Belfast Star, Merry Monk Ballina's teamwork and clutch free throws sealed the win.
