Tralee warriors prevail in top of the table clash
The Tralee Warriors emerged victorious in a nail-biting clash at the Ballina Sports Complex, defeating Merry Monk Ballina with a final score of 74-66. The Warriors showcased their sharpshooting skills, sinking 10 three-pointers compared to Merry Monk Ballina’s five, and demonstrated remarkable resilience to overcome two ties and three lead changes. Their dominance was evident as they built a 17-point lead at one stage, ultimately securing a hard-fought win.

The game kicked off with high intensity, as the Warriors ended the first quarter ahead 22-17. Ronan McGarrity of Merry Monk Ballina put up a strong fight, scoring 10 points, but the Warriors’ explosive 9-0 run highlighted their offensive firepower. By halftime, the Warriors had stretched their lead to 42-29, with Daniel Bowler and McGarrity each contributing 7 points in the quarter.

Merry Monk Ballina mounted a spirited comeback in the third period, cutting the deficit to 48-56, thanks to Theo Daly’s impressive 10-point surge. The final quarter was a tense battle, with both teams exchanging baskets until the score settled at 66-74. Despite a stellar 27-point performance from McGarrity, the Tralee Warriors held their ground, clinching a well-earned victory in this exhilarating contest.
